A gaming PC is a high-powered PC designed to play 3D games at high quality. Because of the amount of computational power required to play 3D games, gaming PCs tend to be able to competently do just about anything else a computer might need to do. However, just because it can do it, doesn't mean you should use it for such purposes. I mean, afterall, it's probably not a good idea to use a 150W graphics card to watch reruns of Phineas and Ferb, but it's also not very efficient to have a dual-core CPU doing CAD or other 3D rendering. Otherwise, if you want to play games, then congrats! You've come to the right place...
